Urban Lentsch and Sigrid Mutscheller wins 60 km Kaiser Maximilian Lauf in skating technique!
After receiving more than 30 cm of new snow during the 60 km classic event on Saturday, the weather changed and offered perfect skiing conditions for Sunday’s skating event: minus 10 degrees, a sky turning out more and more clear and freshly groomed tracks. The same perfect one lap course – offering the unique scenery of the plateau – like on Saturday: starting in Seefeld, going to Mösern, Wildmoos, Buchen and Leutasch before heading back to Seefeld.
The men’s race came down to an exciting photo finish between Urban Lentsch (Team Tiroler Oberland) and Johan Sandberg (Team Igne). Urban was clear stronger on the final meters and won the race just before Johan. In the women’s category, Sigrid Mutscheller (from Fischer Nordic Racing/Ruhepuls40.de) was the clear winner. Second-placed was Josefine Wikberg from Sweden.
90 eager participants stood on the starting line in Seefeld and 72 made it all the way (60 km) to the finish. Congratulations to all of you and we hope to see you next winter!
